Slow Making

Slow making is a quiet refusal of rush, noise, and disposability.

Every piece I make begins with time — time to notice the fleece, to listen to the wool, to let the process unfold at its own pace. From washing and handling raw fibres to knitting, shaping, and finishing, nothing is hurried and nothing is forced.

Working slowly allows for care, connection, and integrity. It means fewer pieces, made well. It means respecting the animal, the land, and the hands involved — including my own.

In a world that pushes speed and productivity, slow making creates space for something different: warmth with meaning, objects with a story, and work that is gentle on both people and planet.

What you hold isn’t just a finished piece — it’s the time, attention, and intention woven into it.

Slow making allows us to honour the wool, the craft, and the people who wear our garments. It ensures quality, durability, and a connection to the tradition of handmade work.

Every piece at LMD is created slowly, with intention and care. We don’t rush the process — each stitch, each seam, and each finishing detail is given the attention it deserves.

By taking the time to create thoughtfully, we produce pieces that are not just beautiful, but meaningful — garments that bring warmth, comfort, and a sense of presence to everyday life.
Choosing slow-made knitwear is a way to embrace mindfulness, support sustainable practices, and appreciate the care woven into every creation.
